mothers day mini shoot family photographer leeds child photography mothers day present gift near me leeds yorkshire
Saturday 14th March 2020

What memories will you have for your children to look back on in many years to come? A facebook album filled of snapshots that don't have you in because you're waiting to lose weight, waiting to have your hair done, because you're the one taking the snapshot on your phone? Will you leave an array of carefully styled selfies and snapchat sillies? They're important snapshots, they're part of the here and now that children love to remember and look back on but they're not a family portrait that you can hang on your wall in pride of place for everyone to look back on. A quality portrait of you all together, forever frozen in time just the way you all are right now.

Your children won't remember that you hadn't had a hair appointment in 6 months, they won't see the baby weight you never really got rid of and they won't be able to see the love you all have for each other unless you record it for them.

mother's day 2018 mummy and me mini sessions, family photography in Leeds, West Yorkshire, studio in Morley, LS27

The Mother's Day mini sessions were fun last year and it was lovely to see so many mums get in the portraits with their children so I am offering them again this year. This year the sets will be as simple as possible, plain neutral backdrops and no props, back to basics so we can really focus on the relationship of you all together. This is the perfect opportunity to get some timeless, beautiful portraits of you with your children and bring your partner along too, take this opportunity to update your family photoalbum!

The mini session is just 15 minutes long with a couple of plain, neutral backdrops and setups. Wear something comfortable and plain to keep the focus on your connection for your memories capturing.

And just to prove that I am not a hypocrite, I had my photograph taken with my son recently because it is SO important to be present in photographs with your children.

This is still my favourite portrait with from a couple of years ago though, not because you can't see my face but because this is my natural state when I'm with my brother and my Mom, they make me laugh and family should be about fun, laughter and memories.

What will your children see when they look through your photoalbums when they're all grown up? Do you even have photoalbums? The modern world is all about the smart phone, little snapshots and videos taken and rarely printed. I have albums of photographs from when I was young and I love looking back on them, I have photoalbums that I made up when my son (now 11) was very tiny but life tends to get in the way and over the years I have tended to stop printing the photographs and books, just having the digital copies on my computer to look back in which is a shame. So I have made  a promise to myself to print my family photographs and put them in albums, I even have some in frames to put up in my newly decorated living room and to send to my Mom.

If you would rather purchase a voucher for a mini photoshoot that Mums can book themselves then that is an option too - I have the perfect Mother's Day voucher available for £25 which includes a mini photoshoot, a 7"x5" frame and Mums can choose any image they like from the session to fill that 7"x5" frame. The perfect gift and beautifully packaged too - ready to hand over for Mother's Day. Use the Contact Lisa form on the website to drop me a message and order your gift voucher. Order online here (choose any time to book, it's not an actual appointment).

Any questions just give me a shout via the Contact Lisa form on the website, email lisa@secretsmilephotography.com or phone on 07760 887946.

Love, Lisa xx

What will your children see when they look through your photoalbums when they're all grown up? Do you even have photoalbums? The modern world is all about the smart phone, little snapshots and videos taken and rarely printed. I have albums of photographs from when I was young and I love looking back on them, I have photoalbums that I made up when my son (now 8) was very tiny but life tends to get in the way and over the years I have tended to stop printing the photographs and books, just having the digital copies on my computer to look back in which is a shame. So I booked a local photographer to take my family photographs last weekend. It was a fab mini shoot and I love my pictures. I need to lose weight, I desperately need a hair cut and I wish I had a wardrobe of beautiful clothes to wear BUT I love the pictures because they're a permanent record of my family how it is NOW.
