My Life Story - getting started

In the first post about My Life Story I shared with you my passion for recording the little things that my son does for future recollection and invited you to do the same. If you missed the blog post you can check it out here.

In this blog post I will share with you how I record these memories so I have little details to look back on.

"BUT I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS!" I hear you cry. I shall tell you a little secret...it takes me 1 hour every 3 months.

Yes, you read correctly - 1 hour every 3 months. Now do you still think you don't have time for this?

Here's my secret...I use a 100 year lifetime diary to record, every 3 months, the things we have been up to, Jacob's likes and dislikes, his favourite movies, songs and foods, his friends, the places we have been together. I have 5 years' worth of memories and it has taken me less than a day to complete in that whole 5 years. In fact, 6 years because I back-dated the diary to include my pregnancy.

The diary I use is the 'My Life Story' diary available on Amazon for a little over £20 and can be started in any year, in any season and filled with as much or as little as you like.

Available in black or cream this diary really is fantastic. You don't have to have a newborn to start recording your child's amazing journey through life - every day your child grows, learns, delights and probably frustrates. It doesn't matter when you start keeping these memories, as long as you do start.

Here is how My Life Story started.

I also invited you to pop along and join the new closed Facebook group created solely for the purpose of sharing the joys and triumphs of being a parent along with the lows that invariably accompany the highs. So, if you haven't already, please do come along and join in the My Life Story Revolution.
