Furbaby day - Saturday 21st October 2017

I am primarily a newborn photographer and as such don't offer pet photography so the studio stays animal-free to avoid allergies. Once a year I tend to close the studio for a week, pay a company to come in and commercially clean the studio and so it seems to be the best time to plan a furbaby day, then close the studio and have it deep cleaned.

This year I will be closing the studio over the October half term for a deep-clean so the furbaby photography day will be on Saturday 21st October and only a limited number of appointments available between 10am and 1pm. These are mini sessions of 15 minutes each.

I wasn't going to run pet mini sessions this year but there is a very special reason that I am writing this post and releasing a day of pet photographs at the studio. This week we lost our beautiful big Saint Bernard very suddenly, within 2 hours of realising he was poorly and getting an emergency vets appointment he had slipped away from us.

I've never had dogs before the two I have now and I didn't realise how much they really are a part of the family. The loss of our beautiful big boy has been so hard this week and my biggest regret is not taking him to the studio for some portraits doing. I had spoken about it several times this year and just never got round to planning a furbaby day. I've missed that opportunity now and will only have the phone photos we've taken to look back on. If you have a dog (or any other type of pet) that is very much a part of the family that you would like photographed then this furbaby day is for you.

Pets of almost any kind are welcome, although regrettably pets with more than 4 legs (arachnids and insects) are unable to be photographed, sorry. This is for your pet's safety and mine. Trust me. Dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, rats, guinea pigs, micro pigs, hedgehogs, snakes, lizards, dragons and tortoises all welcome! If you are unsure if these sessions are suitable for your pet please contact me, Lisa, before booking using the Contact Lisa page. No livestock or horses please, domesticated animals who will fit in the studio only please!

Additional prints and products:

Digital images - £20 each

10"x8" print - £15 each

8"x6" print - £10 each

7"x5" print - £8 each

Please note that flash photography is used in these sessions so animals sensitive to bright light may not like the studio. It is also your responsibility to ensure that your pet arrives and leaves in safety so small animals will need to be transported to and from the session in an appropriate carrier and dogs must be on a lead until they are being photographed. The door of the studio will be locked during your session so there are no Houdini acts but responsibility for ensuring your pets are secured remains with the owners.

Payment is due on booking, there is nothing else to pay on the day. Click here for the online booking page. These spaces are very limited, so please book now to avoid disappointment.

I am looking forward to meeting your furbabies!
