2016 in review, happy new year from Secret Smile Photography, specialist newborn photography studio in Leeds, West Yorkshire
Happy New Year Secret Smilers!

Well 2016 has now drawn to a close and we've welcomed in the new year. I spent the new year watching the fireworks on the tv snuggled up in bed with my son and my partner, it may not be particularly exciting but I can't think of a better way to welcome in the new year than with the people I love, reminiscing on the good times from 2016 and airing our hopes for the coming year.

Our main hope for 2017 is for our health, last year has been hard seeing me taking on the role of carer for the last quarter due to ill health in my immediate family so we are hoping that 2017 will see improvements abound and I also wish for health and happiness for all the wonderful people I have met and saw again in 2016 through Secret Smile Photography. I left my career when I had my son 8 years ago and there have been moments along the way when I have really missed my old career, the people, the office environment, the travel and the security that having a full time employed job comes with but I can still honestly say that becoming a photographer and specialising in newborns has been the best thing I have ever done. I love meeting all the families who come to the studio and I adore seeing the babies grow. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart for supporting my small business in the last year, I really do appreciate every single one of you.

I have been trusted by the familes of over 80 newborns last year, you have trusted me to provide you with memories of your new babies from when they were tiny and these memories will last you, and I, forever. As a little roundup here are some of the newborns I photographed in 2016.

Of course, lots of families come back for milestone sessions and Cake Chaos sessions to celebrate baby's 1st birthday. The Cake Chaos sessions are always lots of messy fun and I love seeing their cheeky little icing-covered faces! Here is a round up of some of this year's little smashers.

And not forgetting the dozens of wonderful families who have come to Secret Smile HQ, family portraits, maternity bumps, older babies, milestone sessions, even some pets! Thank you all for being my secret smilers in 2016!

2016 also saw the inclusion of themed seasonal drop-in days. The first 'trial' of this was the Halloween drop-in day and there so many fabulous costumes and the day was a wonderful mix of new faces and faces that I had photographed before but some of your little witches and monsters had grown up so much!

Halloween was closely followed by a Christmas photography drop-in day as many people enquired after the success of the Halloween drop-in sessions. It was lovely to see so many littleuns in their Christmas jumpers and beautiful smart outfits!
